What is Cyber attack and why users are more vulnerable to these attacks in this corona pandemic.

Cyber Attack : cyber attack is an assault launched by cybercriminals using one or more computers against a single or multiple computers or networks.


Phishing Attack: Phishing is the fraudulent attempt to obtain sensitive information such as usernames, passwords and credit card details by disguising oneself as a trustworthy entity in an electronic communication.

These types of of scams are increasing day by day.In the recent days when the world in under the pandemic the cyber attackers are stealing the sensitive user information in the name of COVID-19 relieves.

According to the sources there are millions of emails with attackers which they can use to steal sensitive data from the people.

All the people be aware that these mails may look official i.e covid19@gov.in etc but please do not click onn the links that appears malicious.

The mails could be sent through spoofed addresses – one of the addresses it could be from is ncov@gov.in – and could include links or files that can deliver malicious code.

Below message is shared by the SBI.

 Atttackers may try to send the link in which they can ask for quick payment which can take your bank userid and password.

Be extra alert when you open online banking sites and enter sensitive information.

Protect Yourself from Phishing Scams
  1. Be cautious about all communications you receive.
  2. Do not click on any links listed in the email message, and do not open any attachments contained in a suspicious email.
  3. Do not enter personal information in a pop-up screen.
